Sylvester Madu Fires Back After Viral Market Video

Veteran Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu, popularly known as Shina Rambo, has responded strongly after a video of him selling goods at a local market in Enugu went viral.

The clip, recorded by a passerby, showed Madu arranging and selling thrift items, popularly called okrika. The footage quickly spread online, sparking mixed reactions, with some fans criticizing him for engaging in such business.

In a new video shared from London, Madu addressed the backlash, revealing that he had traveled abroad to source more goods to ship back to Nigeria. He clarified that the clothes he sells are not second‑hand but quality items he imports, often purchased during sales abroad.

“Keep talking! You record me doing my business and post it online… Now I’m in London buying more goods to ship to Nigeria,” Madu said, stressing that there is dignity in labour.

He urged Nigerian youths to embrace legitimate hustles rather than idleness or begging on social media, adding that being an actor does not stop him from running a profitable side business.

Madu emphasized that he is proud of his hustle and will never be ashamed of working hard to earn a living, noting that many celebrities also engage in side ventures to sustain themselves.
