Chelsea Fall 3–1 to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s struggles continued on Monday, May 4, 2026, as they suffered a 3–1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge, marking their sixth consecutive Premier League loss.

Forest stunned the Blues early, with Taiwo Awoniyi heading in the opener in the 2nd minute. Just 13 minutes later, Igor Jesus doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Awoniyi was fouled in the box. Chelsea’s woes deepened when debutant Jesse Derry was stretchered off following a head injury, and star man Cole Palmer missed a penalty that could have shifted momentum.

Awoniyi struck again in the 52nd minute to make it 3–0, effectively sealing the contest. Chelsea managed a late consolation through João Pedro, who scored a spectacular overhead kick in stoppage time, but it was too little, too late.

Despite dominating possession and creating more chances, Chelsea lacked composure in front of goal. The defeat leaves them 9th in the table, 10 points adrift of fifth place, with their hopes of European qualification fading fast.

For Nottingham Forest, the victory was crucial, lifting them six points clear of the relegation zone and maintaining their unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge since returning to the Premier League.
