The Oyo Muslim Community has strongly condemned the demands made by terrorists who abducted teachers and pupils, insisting that Sharia law must be implemented before their release.

In a statement, the community emphasized that the kidnappers “do not represent Islam”, stressing that their actions are criminal and contrary to the teachings of the faith. Leaders noted that Islam promotes peace, justice, and compassion, and warned against associating violent acts with religious principles.

The group further called on authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of the abducted victims and ensure that perpetrators face justice. They also urged the public to remain vigilant and united against terrorism, highlighting that such demands are attempts to exploit religion for criminal purposes.
