Prominent cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), warning that failure to do so could trigger widespread protests.
In a video message, Ayodele stressed that continued detention of Kanu is fueling tension and could destabilize the country further. He urged authorities to embrace dialogue and reconciliation rather than prolonged incarceration.
The cleric emphasized that addressing grievances through peaceful engagement would help preserve national unity and reduce agitation across the South-East.
