The Federal Government has introduced FreeTV, a digital television platform offering Nigerians access to more than 100 channels without subscription fees.

Officials said the service is designed to expand digital broadcasting across the country, providing households with free access to news, entertainment, sports, and educational programming.

The initiative is part of efforts to reduce reliance on costly pay‑TV services and ensure wider coverage, especially in rural communities.

Authorities noted that FreeTV will help bridge the information gap, promote digital inclusion, and ease financial burdens on families.
