FG Appeals to Media: Take Terrorists Off Front Pages

The Federal Government of Nigeria has urged media leaders to reduce the prominence given to terrorists in national headlines.

Officials stressed that constant front‑page coverage of terrorist activities risks amplifying their influence and undermining national stability. Instead, the government called for responsible journalism that highlights resilience, unity, and progress.

While acknowledging the importance of reporting on security issues, authorities warned that sensationalizing terrorist actions can inadvertently serve their agenda. The appeal comes as Nigeria continues efforts to strengthen public confidence in its fight against insurgency.
