Former OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney, 30, has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon in the 2022 killing of her Nigerian-American boyfriend, Christian Tobechukwu "Toby" Obumseli, in Miami, Florida. She appeared in a Miami courtroom Monday to accept the plea deal, which also includes five years of probation upon release.

Obumseli, 27, was fatally stabbed on April 3, 2022, inside the luxury Edgewater condo the couple shared. Clenney had initially faced a second-degree murder charge, which carried a possible sentence of up to 30 years, and maintained she acted in self-defense, telling investigators Obumseli had pushed her to the ground before she threw a knife at him from about 10 feet away. Body camera footage reportedly showed her covered in his blood at the scene.

Clenney has been held without bond since her arrest in August 2022. With credit for time already served, she is expected to spend roughly two more years in prison before beginning probation. The plea deal also requires her to undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment, and prosecutors say they will oppose any attempt by her to profit financially from Obumseli's death.

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said the plea was reached with the full consultation and approval of Obumseli's family, adding that prosecutors remained focused on evidence showing Clenney stabbed him as part of a pattern of escalating violence. Addressing the court, a representative for Obumseli's family said his death left a permanent void, with his mother stating, "No sentence, no plea can bring back my son to me." The family separately filed a civil lawsuit against Clenney and the apartment complex's management and security companies, alleging inadequate security; those claims were resolved before the criminal plea was finalized.

The case had remained in the public spotlight for over four years, drawing additional controversy after old social media posts attributed to Obumseli resurfaced following his death, prompting public backlash; his family has condemned the views expressed in those posts while continuing to press for accountability over his killing.
